Multiple drug arrests made in Ascension Parish

Four arrests have been made following a week-long investigation of Craig Encalade Jr., 27, selling heroin.

On January 16, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives executed a search warrant on Encalade’s residence in the 2000 block of S. Remy Robert Road in Gonzales. Upon entering the residence, detectives located Encalade, Amy Hughes, Teya Young, and Randall Millet in the residence.

Narcotics detectives arrested Encalade and found a quantity of heroin in his pocket. Detectives located an additional quantity of heroin and marijuana which was packaged for re-sale while conducting the search. In addition, detectives seized various prescription pills, one loaded handgun, and drug paraphernalia.

Encalade is charged with Distribution of Schedule I CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS, Possession of Schedule II CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon. Bond has been set at $160,342.50. 

Hughes, 36, was arrested after being found in possession of oxycodone pills and drug paraphernalia. She is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Her bond has been set at $10,342.50. 

Young, 23, is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS, Possession Schedule II CDS, Possession of a Legend Drug, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $26,118.

Millet, 25, is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS, Possession of Schedule I CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS, Possession Schedule II CDS, Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, and prior warrant charges of: Theft of Goods, Careless Operation, and Resisting an Officer. Bond has been set at $ 146,710.

All suspects are still incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail.
