Multi-agency operation attacks narcotic trafficking in Washington Parish

A lengthy investigation involving the Louisiana State Police, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, and the Bogalusa Police Department resulted in 23 narcotic arrests in Bogalusa early Monday morning for the distribution of drugs throughout Southeast Louisiana.

Louisiana State Police, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, Bogalusa Police Department, United States Customs Border Protection Marine and Air Branch, United States Department of Homeland Security, and the Louisiana National Guard Counterdrug Aviation Unit executed search warrants in this case.

After issuing search warrants, detectives recovered various amounts of illegal drugs, weapons, and drug paraphernalia. Several state and federal arrest warrants were also issued for individuals having extensive criminal histories.

The operation yielded 10 federal narcotic arrests and 13 state felony narcotic arrests. Narcotics removed from the streets included marijuana, crack cocaine, and powdered cocaine.

The following suspects were arrested on federal arrest warrants for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail:

  • Raymond Bridges (age 53)
  • Mary Doughty (age 66)
  • Darin Fields (age 32)
  • Gerard Jackson (age 44)
  • Donelle Pigott (age 50)
  • Donnie Pittman (age 52)
  • Alex Scott (age 32)
  • Torrance Scott (age 35)
  • Walter Vaughn (age 49)
  • Derrick May (age 34)

The following suspects were arrested on state arrest warrants for conspiracy to distribute cocaine:

  • Jack Brister (age 68)
  • Richard Brown (age 53)
  • Dominque James (age 23)
  • Kenneth Foster (age 55)
  • Michael Slocum (age 24)
  • Michael Scott (age 47)
  • Larry Cotton (age 47)
  • Charles Smoot (age 31)

The following suspects were arrested on state arrest warrants for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana:

  • Arthur Phelps (age 50)
  • Jahi Brown (age 21)
  • Anthony Exkano (age 59)

The following subjects were arrested on state arrest warrants for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession with intent distribute marijuana, violation of a drug free zone, possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) in presence of persons under 17 years of age, possession of CDS with a firearm, possession of firearm by person convicted of certain felonies:

  • Brandon Morris (age 31)
  • Angelle Forrest (age 37)

The above suspects were booked at the Washington Parish Jail on state charges.

This operation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
