Morning armed robbery linked to former employee, two arrested

BATON ROUGE, LA — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives arrested two men this morning after a robbery that occurred at McDonald’s located at 11989 Hooper Road at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Deputies apprehended Tramones Allen, 21, for Armed Robbery and Thomas Lathers, 19, of Baker for Principal to Armed Robbery and for two warrants for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Schedule II narcotics.
According to reports Allen entered the business armed with a handgun, forced an employee at gunpoint to give him cash and then forced all employees into a walk-in freezer before he fled the scene. EBRSO responded to the scene and EBRSO K-9 tracked the path of the suspects into a vacant field where detectives found some of the stolen cash and cell phones taken from employees.
Detectives were later able to locate the vehicle previously seen in the same field at Allen’s residence.
Deputies were able to link the robbery to Allen, a former employee of the business and Lathers, the alleged driver.
