ST. MARTIN PARISH, LA — Louisiana State Troopers located an endangered child during proactive patrols prompted by a multi-state "Be On The Lookout" issued from Florida for a missing 5-month-old child from Florida.
On September 30, authorities received a notification about a blue Chrysler Town and Country van which was traveling west on I-10.
The driver, Gloria Reyes, 38, of Orlando, Florida, was wanted for Aggravated Battery With a Dangerous Weapon in Florida. It was also believed that Reyes had a missing and endangered 5-month-old child from Florida in the vehicle with her.
Troopers positioned themselves along I-10 and were able to locate the vehicle. Reyes was pulled over at the Henderson exit and taken into custody without incident. Troopers found the child in the vehicle in good condition.
Arrangements are being made with Florida authorities to have the child picked up.
This case remains under investigation in Florida.
