GONZALES, La (NBC33) – A manager at a fast food chain and his accomplice are now behind bars for staged robbery that occurred on Feb. 5.

Jonathan Gradney, a closing manager at Sonic, reported that on that he had the day’s deposit on his person. While taking out the trash, he claimed to be assaulted by a black male and robbed.

However, one day prior, the general manager of the restaurant filed a police report that claimed Gradney was attempting to rob the Sonic, and even tried to coerce another employee into helping him.

Gonzales officers interviewed Gradney on Feb. 21, where he confessed that the robbery was staged. He stated that he and his domestic partner, Jamie Lusk, were the perpetrators.

Gradney revealed the robbery had taken place when Lusk, a Taco Bell employee, was on his break. He committed the “robbery” and then went back to work.

Gradney also added that he made Lusk punch him twice to make the assault look more realistic.

Jonathan Gradney, 21, has been charged with Felony Theft and Falsifying a Police Report.

Jamie Lusk, 25, has been charged with Felony Theft.

That was amusing for a manager to think of robbing his owned fast-food chain. And now, that is a shame that they should face for doing that. I wonder where did they get that idea of staging a robbery? I can't help but guess their desperation of getting a lot bucks from that act.
