BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 46-year-old man was arrested by police for allegedly inappropriately touching a man in the shower at the UREC Center.
The LSU Police reports that the victim contacted authorities on April 16, shortly after 8:30 p.m. The 28-year-old victim told officers about what happened in the shower and added that he pushed the suspect away.
Witnesses told officers that the suspect had been seen at the campus facility on previous occasions. They were able to review surveillance footage and found a man matching the description provided.
Police released a photo to the media and officials say several people contacted investigators. They identified the man in the photo as Hung M. Dang of Baton Rouge.
Dang, who has no affiliation with the university, was positively identified by the victim in a photo lineup. Investigators spoke to Dang on April 25 and he confirmed that he was at the UREC center on the date of the incident.
Dang was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery and Criminal Trespass.
“He was able to gain entry to the facility by bypassing their normal procedures for entering the facility. Hence the reason for the additional charge of Criminal Trespass,” Cpt. Cory Lalond, LSU Police Department, said.
