A Hammond man was locked up after he allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened to “kill everyone.” Deputies say they found crack cocaine on him as well as a crack pipe after he was transported to prison.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony D. Doherty, 36, of Hammond on Sunday, July 15. We’re told deputies responded to a home on Bake Lane where Doherty was allegedly engaged in an altercation. At some point witnesses say he pulled out a knife and threatened to kill everyone who was there.

When deputies arrived they located Doherty, who refused to leave. Doherty reportedly threw a large rock through one of the bedroom windows at the residence.

Upon his arrest deputies located an unspecified amount of crack cocaine on his person. Once he was transported to the jail, a crack pipe was found in his shoe.

Doherty was charged with the following charges: Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDSII, Aggravated Assault, Simple Criminal Damage and for Introducing Contraband in the Parish Jail.
