BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Baton Rouge man who was wanted for two counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
The Louisiana State Police reports that the traffic stop happened at roughly 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The trooper initiated the stop because the driver, Thomas A. White, 26, was speeding.
Officials say White had an active warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear in Court for outstanding traffic violations.
The front seat passenger in the vehicle, Montrell D. Sanders, 29, was holding an open container of alcohol. He told the trooper that he had no identification. However, the trooper learned that he had the active warrants for attempted murder.
Both men were placed under arrest and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail for Fugitive From Justice.
