Man stabbed near Shreveport homeless shelter

SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — A Shreveport man was hospitalized Friday after he was allegedly attacked near a local homeless shelter.
Shortly before midnight, officers were dispatched to an area hospital to reports of a man who arrived in the emergency room with a stab wound to his upper torso. After speaking with the victim, identified as 28-year-old Robert Henderson of Shreveport, they learned he was walking in the area near the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission when he was approached by a man and assaulted.
Henderson told authorities he realized he had been stabbed after the incident. Henderson suffered minor injuries is reported to be in good condition with expectations of a complete recovery.
Henderson was unable to provide police with a description of the assailant other than he was an African-American. The investigation into this case continues as investigators seek to identify and apprehend the suspect.
