BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge man is recovering in the hospital this morning after being shot.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the 7200 block of Apperson Street at around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 17. When officers arrived they found a 24 year old male who had been shot multiple times. He was located in a ditch.

The victim told officers that he was walking down Conrad Street at Jean Street when he was approached by the suspect, who was in a vehicle. The suspect forced the victim to get in the vehicle and then drove to Apperson Street. The suspect then shot the victim multiple times.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The case is currently under investigation. Officials have not provided information relative to whether a motive or suspect has been identified in this case.
