Man shot in the calf during early morning altercation

LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital early this morning.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Friday, Nov. 2 at roughly 9:00 a.m. When officers arrived to the scene located on the 100 block of Town Homes Drive, they found a man who had been shot in the calf.
Witnesses told officers that the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal argument. The suspect pulled out a handgun and fire 4 or 5 shots at the victim and then fled in a 4-door green vehicle.
The 30-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injury. He is expected to recover.
