Baton Rouge Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another man with serious injuries.

Officials say it happened around 1:30 a.m. inside a home in the 6,000 block of Saint Katherine Street. Justin King, 27, was found inside his residence by BRPD officers who were responding to a call of shots fired in the area.

King, who was suffering from multiple gun shot wounds, was transported to a local hospital where he later died due to his injuries. A second victim, a 22 year old male, drove himself to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Motives are unknown at this time and Detectives have no suspects.

This is the 33rd homicide investigation for the Baton Rouge Police Department in 2013. This shooting marks the 12th homicide in the 70805 area code. The second area with the most number of homicides this year is 70802 at 7.
