Man shot dead at African-American Museum in Hammond
HAMMOND, LA (WDSU) — Hammond police said they are investigating the death of a man at the African-American Heritage Museum in the 1600 block of Phoenix Square at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
When they arrived at the scene, authorities said they found Tyrone Blackburn, 24, with two gunshot wounds to the torso.
Police said the motive appears to be robbery. Investigators said they are looking for Stephen Hing as a person of interest. Hing was described by police as an African-American man, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 215 pounds. Hing has been previously seen in the 42000 block of Rebecca Street in Hammond.
