Zachary, La (NBC33) — Saturday afternoon Zachary police officers responded to a robbery call at a local Payless Shoe Store.
Zachary P.D. says it happened around 12:30 p.m. They say when they got there, the suspect had already fled the scene. They were able to get a picture of the man from the security cameras.

Police say the man entered the store and pretended he was going to buy a pair of shoes. The clerk rain up the shoes and saw him lift his shirt revealing a gun hidden in his waist band. She opened the safe, he took the money, and fled the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a tan colored fisherman's style cap and a dark colored jacket. He's 6'1" and 250 lbs.

Zachary PD says he may have fled the area driving a silver or grey Tahoe or Suburban.
