Man recently released from jail to head right back there
Pierre Part, La (NBC33) — A recently released man is back in jail after facing multiple charges.
On July 21, 2011, Assumption Parish Detectives responded to various burglary and criminal damage to property complaints in Pierre Part, ranging from the theft of a GPS to a pair of sunglasses.
Rhett Cavalier, 40, had just gotten out of jail the day before, and his sister has a protective order against him. The victim lives with his sister and Rhett Cavalier has been ordered by the Court to stay away from that residence.
Investigators received information that a male fitting Cavalier’s description had been attempting to sell some of the stolen items to a customer at a local convenience store.
It was later confirmed that the two radar detectors were actually sold by Rhett Cavalier to another Pierre Part Resident. A search of his house produced more stolen items.
Cavalier has been charged with three counts of Simple Burglary, one count of Criminal Damage to Property over $1,000, and one count of Violations of Protective Order.
