BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge man was sentenced to 21 months in prison for operating a fake Internet business that sold frozen chicken feet. He will also pay restitutions in the amount of $138,239.
Terence Ndangoh, 25, collected more than $138,000 from victims for orders of the frozen product. However, an investigation revealed that Ndangoh never had a contract with a service provider or access to the product. The orders were never fulfilled.
In addition to creating the online company, Ndangoh transmitted phony licenses, permits and other business certificates to potential buyers, which made them believe he was running a legitimate Louisiana-based business. Once the victim requested a purchase, he would have them wire the funds, but never shipped the order.
