A 30-year-old man on probation for a burglary charge confessed to attempting to run over a New Orleans Police Officer.

Officials say Justin Henry attempted to run over Officer Karla Baker on Sunday, Dec. 9 in the 3900 block of Downman Road. Several tips were called into Crime Stoppers regarding the identity of the suspect. Officers located Henry, who was at his girlfriend’s house. When officers approached the house to speak with Henry, he allegedly took off running. Officers gave chase, caught him, then placed him under arrest.

Once in custody, investigators questioned Henry about the incident. He then confessed to trying to run Officer Baker down with his dark blue Impala.

Henry is charged with Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer and Criminal Damage to Property. He’s currently on probation for Residence Burglary.
