Two armed gunmen allegedly forced their way into a home on North 22nd Street while they were chasing an unknown victim.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was dispatched to the home on Tuesday, Oct. 1. When they arrived, the victims told officers that two men pushed their way into the home and pointed guns at them.

“The [suspect] pointed a firearm at the victim and started asking where the subject he was chasing was located,” the arrest report noted. “Minutes later the [man] exited the residence and began walking westbound on Gayosa Street.”

The officer patrolled the area and located a man who matched the description provided by the victim at the BREC park. The officer claims that when he got near the man in his vehicle, the man took off running.

“The [suspect] ran up to the fence and then [tossed] the firearm over the fence,” the report noted.

The officer located a black Jiminex Arms .380 pistol. At that point he placed the suspect, Christopher Carter, 23, under arrest. At that point the officer called in his information and learned that Carter was placed on probation in November 2013 for Simple Burglary.

Carter was arrested and charged with Home Invasion, Resisting an Officer, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. His bond was set at $92,500.

The second suspect involved in this incident has not yet been identified. If you know anything regarding his identity, call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867). You can also text your tip to CRIMES (274637). Include CS225 at the beginning of your message.
