A Baton Rouge man was arrested for killing his brother during the early morning. The shooting happened in the driveway of their parents' home.

The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the call at roughly 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 15. When they arrived to the home on Chateau Drive, they found the victim, Wayne Hebert, Jr., 45, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators learned that Wayne was shot by his brother, Michael Hebert, 51, after the two were involved in an argument. Michael says he believed Wayne, whose home address is listed as Austin, Texas, was going to physically attack him, so he went and got his gun.

Wayne was shot multiple times in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

This is the 30th homicide investigation for the Baton Rouge Police Department in 2013. Of those, 8 happened during the month of June. This is the third homicide in the 70815 area code within the past four days. The first two cases remain open at this time with no motive or suspect.
