LAKE CHARLES, LA (NBC33) — A student from McNeese State University was found murdered on Friday, Nov. 30 and police have arrested her co-worker.
The Lake Charles Police Department reports that the body of Brittany Grosse was found on the side of the road at roughly 8:30 p.m. An autopsy revealed that Grosse died from blunt force trauma and there were cut marks on her body.
Today, police announced that they arrested Dustin Pleasant, 26, for Second-Degree Murder. Investigators say Pleasant and Grosse worked together at Big Daddy’s Grill in Lake Charles. We’re told Pleasant was employed through a work-release program with the Calcasieu Parish Transitional Work Program. He was a first-time offender serving out a sentence for assault.
Officials say they have not yet determined a motive for the murder, but say they are confident Pleasant is responsible.
Pleasant is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
