Man fires gun at ex-girlfriend, roommate after attempting to ‘fix’ relationship; turns himself in

St. Martin Parish, La (NBC33) — A St. Martin Parish man has surrendered to authorities after he fired a gun at his ex-girlfriend and her roommate.
On May 11 at around 10:57 p.m., Johnny Alexander, 35, went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment, located in the 600 block of Berlin Drive.
His intent was to reconcile their relationship.
During their conversation, Alexander pulled out a handgun. The ex-girlfriend’s roommate, a 23-year-old male, attempted to calm the situation down.
Alexander opened fired on the male victim, who was shot at least three times; he is being treated at Lafayette Regional Medical Center where he is in serious but stable condition. The ex-girlfriend was shot at, but not hit.
Alexander fled the scene prior to deputies arriving.
He turned himself today and was charged with two counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder.
