Man arrested in Hammond for Battery of Police Officer

HAMMOND, La (TPSO) -- Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel reports the arrest of Henry Miller, 30 of Knoxville, TN. on numerous charges.

On February 6, 2011, Deputy Sydney Eubanks responded to an automobile accident on North Baptist Road and Wardline Road. Upon arrival Deputy Eubanks observed a vehicle sideways in a ditch. At this time, Eubanks noticed the driver, later identified as Miller, walking on the roadway toward W. Lee Hughes Rd. Upon making contact with Miller, he stated that he did not have a valid driver’s license and had an outstanding warrant for Battery on a Police Officer.

Miller was then taken into custody. During a search subsequent to his arrest, Eubanks located suspected marijuana in Miller’s possession along with a large sum of cash. Miller was transported to the Parish Jail and booked with ct. of Driving Under Suspension, 1ct. Possession of Marijuana, 1ct. Leaving the scene of an accident and 1ct. of FTA Battery of Police Officer.
