BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection to the beating death of a Baton Rouge man.
The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Jeremy Brown on Wednesday, Sept. 18. He’s accused of killing Shaun Hartley, 31.
Hartley’s body was discovered on Thursday, Sept. 12 inside a vacant home located on Wenonah Street.
“It was a violent death,” Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, Baton Rouge Police Department, said. “Apparently they had some type of argument before this incident. We’re not sure if it was related to drugs or money, but Brown became upset with Hartley. He struck him multiple times with a 2x4 and we believe he was also stabbed.”
Brown was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
The Baton Rouge Police Department has investigated 47 homicides this year. Of those, they have 30 cleared cases.
