BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A man has been arrested for allegedly posting a threatening comment towards the District Attorney.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department arrested Derrick Deandre Green for posting a comment on Twitter related to the current First-Degree murder trial of rapper Torrence Hatch, aka Lil’ Boosie. Green was charged with Public Intimidation and Terrorizing.
The message was sent on Saturday, May 5, shortly before 4:00 p.m. “contained verbage that could be deemed to be a threat made towards East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore.”
The first post read, “I got a sniper rifle for Hillar Moore when he walk out of the court house.”
A second post was posted soon thereafter that reflected a similar statement without mentioning Hillar Moore.
Detectives traced the Twitter user to the suspect, who was found at the EBR 19th Judicial District Court where the Lil’ Boosie trial was being held.
Green was arrested at shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Green admitted to detectives that he had posted the message and said that he was just “fooling around” when he sent it.
Green was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
