Man arrested for making fake 911 call about shooting

A man in Independence was arrested for making a fake call to the Sheriff’s office, claiming that someone had been shot.

Officials say Ronaldo J. Logan, 21, of Independence placed a call to the Sheriff’s office on Sunday, Jan. 8. In the call he alleged that a male victim had been shot in the stomach and that the suspect already fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle.

The incident was stated to have occurred on Bickham Chapel Rd.

Numerous deputies responded to the area in an effort to locate the suspect and victim. During the investigation, it was reveled that Logan, who was disguised as a woman, placed the false report because he was mad at his mother.

Logan was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief and Resisting an Officer.
