Man arrested for failure to register as sex offender; girlfriend arrested for obstruction of justice

NEW IBERIA, LA (NBC33) — A New Iberia man and his girlfriend were arrested last week for failure to register as a sex offender and obstruction of justice.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that Anthony Lancelin, 37, of Iberia Parish was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 1 for failing to register as a sex offender.
Officials say Lancelin was located at his girlfriend’s home located on W. Admiral Doyle Road in New Iberia. Joanne Keel, 19, was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.
Both were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
The investigation was conducted by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigations Sex Offender Registration Unit. The United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force assisted with the arrest.
