NEW IBERIA, LA. (NBC33) — A New Iberia man was arrested for disturbing the peace.

On October 4, at approximately 6:18 p.m., deputies responded to a reported disturbance of a person armed with a handgun. Once deputies arrived on the scene and evaluated the situation, it was determined that David Pope was involved in an argument with another person. Pope was taken into custody by deputies without incident. He was issued a summons for disturbing the peace and simple assault. He was then transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
