A Baton Rouge man was arrested allegedly murdering a man just under a year ago. Investigators believe robbery was the motive.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that Danny Cousin, 23, was arrested on Friday, July 26. He is charged with First-Degree murder for the shooting death of Bryan Young, 27.

The shooting happened on August 31, 2012 at roughly 3:00 a.m. Young was found outside the Sharon Arms Apartment complex on Huron Street.

”Cousin approached Young for sexual favors,” Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, Baton Rouge Police Department, said. “After a brief discussion, he then pulled out a handgun and demanded money.”

Cousin allegedly shot young multiple times in the torso after he took the money. Young was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Cousin was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

A second man was also arrested in connection to the case. According to the police report, Keeson Davis, 21, admitted to helping Cousin escape from the crime scene. He told police that he was also in the area working as a prostitute. After the shooting, he told police that he drove Cousin to his home.

Davis was arrested and charged with Asscessory After the Fact relative to First-Degree Murder. He was also booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
