A Shreveport man lands in jail following his arrest after allegedly firing a weapon inside the city limits.

Just before noon on March 17, police were called to a home in the 5200 block of Kent Street relative to reports of someone firing a gun.

Officers made contact with the victim, who stated that while standing in a neighboring backyard, he heard what sounded like several gunshots. The man told police that one of the shots penetrated a nearby fence, narrowly missing him.

During the course of the officers' investigation, it was learned that Shonesammuies Young, 21, was seen firing a hand gun and allowing two other juveniles to fire the weapon as well.

A 15-year-old boy was issued a misdemeanor summons for interfering in a police investigation after it was learned that he intentionally hid parts of the gun after learning that police were in search of the weapon used in the incident.

Additionally, a 16-year-old girl is being sought in connection with the fired shots after allegedly fleeing the scene before officers arrived.

For his role in the shooting, Young was charged with a single count of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, Illegal Use of a Weapon, along with a separate count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
