A Hammond man has been arrested after breaking into a used car lot office and burglarizing it.

In the evening hours of August 24, Chief Dennis Pevey was traveling on I-55 when he heard of an active burglary alarm going off at a local business on West Thomas near Hobby Lobby.

Being in the area, he responded to the call. When he arrived on scene, he observed a black male subject, later identified as Kenneth Abron, running from the Pay Day Used Car lot. At this time, a short purist occurred resulting in Abron’s apprehension.

After further investigation, it was discovered that Abron allegedly burglarized the Pay Day Used Car lot’s main office.

Subsequently Abron was charged with Simple Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting an Officer by Flight, and outstanding warrants.

Abron was sent to the parish Jail where he was properly booked.
