Man allegedly beat his girlfriend unconscious, young child a witness

A Thibodaux man was arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend with a gun until she was unconscious. We’re told their child witnessed the entire incident.

The Thibodaux Police Department reports that the incident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. A man called police to and reported that someone had drug his girlfriend around and she was not responding.

The woman was transported to the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. She eventually regained consciousness and told officers that her boyfriend was the one responsible, not an unknown suspect.

The victim told police that she was with her boyfriend, Joshua Tillman, 22, at a hotel located on St. Mary Street. She said Tillman began beating her in front of their child. She said that Tillman bit her every time she tried to fight back. At one point he allegedly pointed the gun at her and threatened to kill her.

Tillman was arrested for Second-Degree Battery, Domestic Abuse, Aggravated Assault Child Endangerment, and Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. His bond was set at $255,000.
