Man accused of two armed robberies on same day is locked up

A Lake Charles man was arrested for commiting two separate armed robberies within hours of each other.

The Lake Charles Police Department reports that the first incident occurred on Thursday, July 19 at approximately shortly before 1:30 a.m. Officers responded to 107 Jefferson (Circle K) and learned that the suspect entered the business with a blunt object and made off with undisclosed amount of money.

Then, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Officers responded to 4447 Lake St (Shop Rite) in reference to a robbery. The suspect entered the business implying he was armed and again made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Investigators identified the same suspect in both cases as Bernard Carrier, 34, of Lake Charles. He was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and First-Degree Robbery. His bond was set at $130,000.
