LSU Police Investigators arrested a suspect wanted for several cases of theft and burglary that occurred on the campus in recent months.

Marcus Eugene Armstrong, 42, was arrested Jan. 31, and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Armstrong is charged with 15 counts of Simple Burglary, 11 counts of Unauthorized Use of An Access Card, 1 count of Attempted Unauthorized Use of An Access Card, and 1 count of Computer Tampering.

LSUPD and BRPD were able to locate several items that Armstrong had pawned and identified them as items stolen from campus.

LSU Police Investigators also learned that Armstrong had two outstanding warrants: one from Saline County Nebraska for outstanding Child Support debt and one from Rankin County Mississippi for a stolen vehicle, which also matched the description of the suspect vehicle LSU Police Investigators were looking for.

Detectives located Armstrong and obtained a warrant. They arrested him on the outstanding warrants from Nebraska and Mississippi.

Officers were able to recover the stolen vehicle from Mississippi, as well as computers and other electronic equipment stolen from LSU’s campus.

As the investigation continues, additional charges could be added.
