Louisiana State Police say that despite several tips and leads, investigators have not been able to locate the vehicle that hit and injured a 7-year-old child from Brusly, LA, on July 4.

Officers say that video evidence makes them certain the vehicle they are looking for is an early to mid 1990’s, white Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon. They do not believe the vehicle is a Suburban.

The passenger side mirror will possibly have some damage as a result of the impact.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on July 4. According to reports, the child was riding a bicycle on River Road (LA Highway 988) north of LA Highway 989-1 in West Baton Rouge Parish.

The 7-year-old was riding northbound in the southbound lane when the SUV hit him. The driver of the SUV kept going southbound on River Road.

Police say the boy was not wearing a safety helmet and suffered minor injuries, which were treated at an area hospital.

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this case should contact Louisiana State Police Troop A at 225-754-8500 or their local law enforcement agency.
