Long-standing feud escalates to drive-by shooting in Donaldsonville

An Ascension Parish man is behind bars on attempted murder charges.

APSO deputies went to Memorial Drive in Donaldsonville after receiving reports of a shooting.

Deputies learned that the male victim was walking on Memorial Drive when Toran Munson, 28, drove up, got out of his vehicle, and got into an argument with the victim. Munson had been feuding with the victim for some time and has previous altercations with him,.

Munson fired two gunshots, got back in his vehicle and drove away, tossing the gun out the window. 

The victim, witnesses and a passenger in Munson’s car all confirmed the story.

Deputies found Munson and searched his vehicle; they found a small pipe and a marijuana residue on the driver side of the vehicle.

Munson was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Aggravated Damage to Property and Drug Paraphernalia.
