A Livingston Parish pharmacist locked up after Sheriff's deputies find thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs in his car.

Deputies tell us Kirkland Jeane, 39, was pulled over for a traffic stop on Wednesday, April 11. That's when they found about $1,600 worth of pills and a 38-caliber hand gun on the floor.

Deputies believe he was planning to sell the drugs.

"We’re not going to tolerate that here and you can see that and that is something that the community should be concerned over,” Jason Ard, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, said. “We're obviously concerned and we're going to make sure we follow this to hopefully get some prosecution on this matter."

Jeane will face a number of different charges...including 12 counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute drugs. Deputies say he could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
