Livingston Parish, La (NBC33) — Tips from the public helped put two copper thieves behind bars tonight.

Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested Elvin Pruitt, 27, during a traffic stop in Calcasieu Parish.

The other culprit, Dereck McCullough, 29, was already in an Ascension Parish jail on other charges.

The men are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper from a construction site.
