SPRINGFIELD, LA (NBC33) — Scott Perrilloux, the District Attorney of Livingston parish, has recused himself from a recent corruption case in the town of Springfield.
You may recall, Mayor Charles Martin and Police Chief Jimmy Jones are accused of trying to cover up a DWI for the mayor's close friend. Last week, the two were arrested.
Initially, the Livingston D.A. was supposed to take on the case, but has since declined. It will now go to Attorney General Buddy Caldwell for prosecution.
