Lake Charles man allegedly holds woman at gunpoint, ties her up, beats her

Lake Charles (NBC33) — Lake Charles police arrested Jeremy Payne, 29, after he allegedly beat a woman and held her captive by threatening her with a gun.
The 29-year-old victim went to the Lake Charles Police Department on Tuesday, Feb. 18, and reported that the suspect beat her, tied her up, and kept her against her will.
According to police reports, the woman sated she was held at gunpoint for several days. The report also said that the woman had signs of being assaulted when she arrived at the police station.
She told officers that she went to the suspect’s residence on her own, and the two of them got into an argument. When she tried to leave, he began beating her.
According to the victim, the suspect threatened her with the weapon when she tried to get away. He also tied her up and beat her with the weapon.
When detectives searched the suspect’s home, they collected evidence that supported the victim’s complaint.
Payne was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and false imprisonment with a firearm. His bond was set at $350,000.00.
