Lake Charles: Former assistant DA indicted on sexual battery, malfeasance
Lake Charles (NBC33) — A Grand Jury in Calcasieu Parish on Thursday returned a two felony-count indictment against former Clacasieu Parish first assistant distract attorney Ronald Rossitto, 63, of Lake Charles.
Rossitto was indicted on one count of sexual battery and one count of malfeasance in office.
The charges are related to a January 2013 incident in which Rossitto allegedly groped a man in his office after offering to help the victim get his driver’s license reinstated.
Rossitto reportedly gave the victim documentation and $100 in cash for reinstatement of his license. According to the victim, Rossitto touched him inappropriately as he was leaving.
Rossitto resigned from his position as assistant DA in September before pleading guilty to obscenity charges in Orleans Parish for similar allegations.
Rossitto’s bond was set at $25,000. He was ordered to turn himself in by 5:00 p.m. Monday.
