Lafayette man wanted for robbery charges turns himself in

LAFAYETTE, La — A man wanted for robbing a business has turned himself in to police.
On January 18, at around 3:50 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of Arnould Blvd regarding a robbery.
According to the victims, the suspect entered the business wearing a hoodie with his face covered and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the suspect and the suspect then fled the area.
The suspect never displayed a weapon, but one of his hands’s remained in his pocket during the robbery.
Lafayette Police identified the suspect as Lonnie Poydras, 32.
In the early morning hours of January 21, Poydras turned himself in to police without incident.
He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correction Center on the warrant for First-Degree Robbery.
The case remains under investigation.
