Lafayette man arrested for shooting at Breaux Bridge trailer park

BREAUX BRIDGE, LA — An 18 year old man from Lafayette is behind bars today after allegedly firing a gun at a trailer park in Breaux Bridge.
Shortly before midnight last night, Wednesday, June 6, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding shots being fired at a residence at the My Place Trailer Park in Breaux Bridge.
The suspect who was identified as Rondell Barfield, 18, Lafayette, fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival.
A few hours after the incident, the suspect turned himself in to Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm
The suspect apparently fired several shots into the residence and no injuries were reported in connection with this incident. At this time no bond had not been set for Mr. Barfield.
