The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office made two arrests on Tuesday after investigating reports of drug activity at a Kentwood residence.

On June 30, TPSO narcotics agents went to a Kentwood residence on South River Road to investigate allegations of illegal drug activity.

Before the narcotics agents arrived, patrol deputies arrived at the same home to help the Department of Child and Family Services locate Adam Thibodeaux and Sonya Boney.

Once officers entered the home, they immediately detected a strong chemical odor typically associated with meth labs. Deputies also reported seeing unlabeled prescription narcotics displayed on the countertop. Deputies contacted the Narcotics Unit for further investigation.

Narcotics agents confirmed the presence of methamphetamine, materials used to make the drug, a loaded firearm, and a bag of prescription pills.

Sonya Boney, 27, of Kentwood, was charged with:
1. Operation Creation of a Clandestine Lab
2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
3. Possession of SCHII CDS “Methamphetamine”
4. Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of CDS
