K9 unit assists in arrest of dangerous career criminal
Deputy Albert Sharp and TPSO K9 Titan, assisted the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) with the apprehension of wanted suspect.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that on Thursday, Dec. 12, Deputy Albert Sharp and TPSO K9 Titan, assisted the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) with the apprehension of wanted suspect Travis Williams, 32, of Independence.

Williams was wanted of Federal Warrants for the distribution of Narcotics. He is also know to armed and dangerous with an extensive criminal history.

Deputy Sharp and Titan assisted Agents at Williams’ residence in Independence. Upon arrival at the residence, the occupants stated that Williams was not in the home and gave agents consent to search.

At this time, Deputy Sharp then deployed K9 Titan to search the residence. While inside, Titan alerted on closet in the hallway.

Deputy Sharp and Titan continued to search and clear all the other rooms in the residence. Titan then alerted on the hallway closet for a second time. The closet contained the central air unit for the residence and an entry way into the attic. Deputy Sharp pulled down the access to the attic and announced his and Titan’s presence.

With in moments, the suspect, Travis Williams pleaded Deputy Sharp not to send the dog up.

Williams was then apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
