A student at a Lafayette middle school has been arrested for calling in a bomb threat.

Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department’s Youth Services Section have arrested a 12-year-old male student at L.J. Alleman.

The student was arrested in connection with the bomb threat made on May 3.

Evidence was located connecting the student to the threatening message written inside of the boy’s bathroom at the school.

The student was removed from school and later released into the custody of his parents. The investigation remains ongoing regarding the remaining incidents at L.J. Alleman.
