BATON ROUGE, LA — The Baton Rouge Fire Department is currently investigating a case of arson that happened early this morning.

The blaze was reported on Tuesday, Aug. 28, just before 5:00 a.m. at “The Attic” located on Murial Ave. They believe a couch in the building was what started the fire. Fire investigators believe it was intentionally set to cover-up a burglary.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was then called in to continue the investigation.

Officials say an estimated $5,000 in water damage was caused extinguishing the blaze.
