Independence woman hits father of her children with vehicle
TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (NBC33) — An Independence woman was arrested after hitting her children’s father with her vehicle.
According to the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office, Shawanda Robertson, 38, struck her children’s father on Friday morning, between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. on Old Highway 51 just south of Amite.
A witness identified Robertson as the suspect and gave a description of the vehicle.
Police discovered the father of Robertson’s children, Terrence Holden, 38, unconscious in a ditch. His leg was severely injured.
An ambulance transported Holden to a local hospital, and he is reportedly in critical condition.
Robertson was found at her job in Ponchatoula and taken into custody.
She provided a statement to detectives detailing the incident.
Robertson was booked on one count of Attempted Second Degree Homicide, one count of felony Hit and Run, and one count Failure to Appear.
