Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies investigate armed robbery

Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that at approximately 11:53 p.m. Saturday deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the business of "Cuttin Times" at the 600 Block of Field Street in reference to an armed robbery.

Once deputies arrived they learned that three male suspects armed with firearms forced their way through the front door of the business. Once inside the building the suspects demanded money from the business owner who was still inside of the business. According to deputies, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and then shot the victim in the leg before fleeing from the building in an unknown direction. The suspects are described as three black males all were wearing black clothing and had their faces concealed with some type of material. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The incident is currently being investigated by detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office.
