I-10 East back open after a shooting on bridge

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: (8:20 p.m.) - Baton Rouge Police say I-10 East has reopened. We'll have the very latest on the shooting on NBC33 News at 10:00.
ORIGINAL: The east bound lane of the Mississippi River bridge, just passed Nicholson, has been shut down due to an attempted-homicide investigation. The westbound lane has been reduced to two lanes as well.
“Some type of altercation began in Port Allen,” Cpl. L’Jean McKneely explained. “The person was shot in the east bound lane, while he was in a vehicle, on the Mississippi River Bridge near the Nicholson exit.”
Details regarding the shooting are limited at this time. We do know that the man was transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge.
Right now I-10 East at LA 1 is closed due to the investigation. Traffic is being diverted to the Old Mississippi River bridge.
