On May 18, 2012 officers with the Baker Police and Agents with the Louisiana Alcohol Beverage Control Board arrested a local husband and wife after it was discovered that they were illegally operating an eating establishment while serving alcoholic beverages. Police arrested Alteen Profit and William Profit at their residence, located at 1900 block of  Hovey Street in Baker.

Baker Police were notified by several concerned citizens of the community who complained that Alteen and William Profit were selling food and alcoholic beverages from a makeshift dining facility inside their home to people in the area.

As a result of their investigation, detectives made contact with members of the Alcohol Beverage Control (A.B.C.) Board, and in their combined efforts, they executed a search warrant on the premises; where officers discovered that a section of the home had been remodeled into a restaurant with seating arrangements, a DJ booth, and a stocked bar which contained a massive quantity of alcoholic beverages; that were later seized by officers on sight. Both Mr. and Mrs. Profit were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison, where both subjects were charged with Failing to Acquire Permits to sell Alcohol.
